At the press conference for the opening of the state-of-the-art Henrico Sports & Events Center, 804 Coaches for Change was prominently featured on several local media outlets as one of the vendors who will host an event in the facility that will officially open in October of 2023.
The 2023 Community Classic, the third annual boys and girls basketball event, will be held at the Sports Center.
“Teaching kids sports, but between there teaching them life skills and really bringing everybody together [is the goal for 804 Coaches for Change],” vice president Stephen Lewis said. “We’re really excited about the new venue. [This puts the youth] on a big stage to be able to participate.”
The Classic returns Dec. 28-30, 2023, preceded by a dinner for all teams on Dec. 27. Stay tuned for more details.
